Center for Environment/Friends of the Earth Bosnia & Herzegovina – part of the Coalition for the Protection of Rivers in Bosnia & Herzegovina, the group behind the 15 metre high installation – is calling for dam building to stop and for development to be focused on tourism and job-producing traditional activities.

One in four mammals and one in eight birds are now threatened with extinction, as forests and other irreplaceable habitats are degraded and destroyed. Three species become extinct every hour.

Friends of the Earth Europe campaigns to end this alarming decline in species worldwide. Biodiversity forms the basis of existence for future generations. We aim to put this message at the heart of ongoing European debates, and support our national and local groups to preserve biodiversity on the ground.
